YOU, are Powerful! YOU are a Creative Being!
One does not have to take art lessons, or enroll in music class to find and to know Creativity. Creativity is the core of your Being, in every cell - in the equation of your DNA. Creative is the energy in and around you. Creativity works through you and around you, forming Life. You create something every single day. Your creation my be domestic in nature, such as a delicious meal or a neat, tidy, well-organized closet. Your creation may be beautiful percussion beats when you pick up those maracas you bought in Mexico, or fancy dance moves - rhythmic ebb and flow that comes easily when you hear your favorite song. Creation manifests itself when you lecture your children on the importance of having strong values and living a well-balanced life. Creativity pours into words on paper when you express your pain or love in a poem. Children splash through rain puddles, drenching themselves in their new non waterproof shoes for the sake of creativity, pretending they are giant water creatures from outer-space. Perhaps, you have created a life with a spouse, a home and a job that you enjoy. We, individually and collectively create Life. We create wellness and illness - "dis-ease"; peace and confusion; strife and joy. We may create anything and everything. The Universe works in our favor, either way. This is power. Deliberately and knowingly (mindfully) take steps to expand that which you wish to create and have more. Be mindful of your Power to create. Ernest Holmes wrote in "Creative Mind": "The time has now come when the few must become the many. The whole world, from the least to the greatest, must know the Truth, so that man may understand the great laws that govern his life. He must learn to control his own destiny, to heal his own body and bring happiness to his own soul. Ignorance must vanish and understanding must be ushered in." On creating and cultivating Love, the Dalai Lama says": "Techniques of contemplative reflection are needed to broaden the range of your love to envelop more and more beings." Creativity, while being the root of Life, may or may not be used to its fullest. This is a choice to be made. To expand your creative output: First, listen to your own mind in order to know what messages are pulsating in and out of your being. Second, Know thyself. Know what you have created thus far - helpful vs. not so helpful. Third, quiet the not so helpful thoughts in order to focus on the most productive ones. Finally, Know what you wish have more of in your life and create more and more of those things that enrich your life. You are Powerful! You are a Creative Being! Life is a multi-volume book full of paradoxes. A paradox (in my own words) can be a profound tidbit of wisdom that explains how doing one thing is beneficial, but doing its OPPOSITE is just as relevant and crucial to vital living and success.
One paradox that is at the forefront of my mind on a daily basis is "taking action" vs. "being still". As human beings, we can and do have a million great ideas floating in and out of our minds at any given moment. Ideas are fabulous and worthy but very much useless if not paired with "right actions". Ideas are the seeds needed to sprout all potential creations, but are indeed passive thoughts in and of themselves. They don't DO anything unless, you or I take the actions to make them a reality. An example of this is saying to oneself "I would like to go to Zimbabwe one day". Zimbabwe! Woo Hoo! While this is a Divine thought, kicking that thought up a notch might sound like: "Zimbabwe sounds like a great country to visit, let me look up some facts on the internet...." Turning that thought up yet another notch would be: "I'm going to see how much flights are in March, when I have some vacation time.", or "Oh, look! Zimbabwe tickets are $500 cheaper if I book them now - where's my credit card?" The paradox for this scenario, which is "Be still", might look and sound like this: "I looked up Zimbabwe on the internet and priced tickets. They are $2000 roundtrip if I book the least expensive ticket. I don't have the money now, but I trust the universe will work for me. I trust I will go to Zimbabwe soon. I release my thought in faith with no worries or concerns, knowing the work is being done in my favor." This is one way one might use being still as an action. There are infinite other ways one must be still as an act of faith to manifest ideas. This practice may be used to heal oneself of illness and pain; to realize abundance and create more wealth; to build better relationships, or even to start a small business. The perfect balance of taking initiative as one's individual work combined with having faith in the work and energy of the Universe or God, is what gets things done. Listen, and you will know exactly what to do. |
